2134MiscRadio Operators Needed! The Town of Queen Creek has asked for QCECG communications support services for their very large event - Trunk or Treat 2022. We expect about 15,000 to 20,000 attendees. This is a fast paced event for our volunteers.

The event is on Saturday, October 15th, and runs for the public from 5 PM till 9 PM. Our participation will be for a (8.0) hour shift from 3 PM till 11 PM, with volunteers ARRIVING at 2:30 PM for check in.

This is an opportunity for QCECG members and any licensed local amateur radio operator that is interested in developing/maintaining/enhancing their EMCOMM communications skills.

We need at least 10-15 more volunteers to cover the expected assignments. There will be some walking involved with a few assignments since we are shadowing event organizers. We also have fixed locations, i.e. none-to-limited walking assignments. All you will need is your HT, spare battery, headset or speaker/mike.

There will be a follow-up email with more details for volunteers but for now, we need you to consider the date, check your availability, and support our request.
Please reply directly to Joe, N2QOJ, at if you can support this event. PLEASE REPLY WITH RESPONSE AT YOUR EARLIEST CONVENIENCE.

Thank you in advance for your service and participation.

8TrainingFEMA Classes The Red Cross and the AzRCCC encourage members to take the FEMA IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800 courses, which are pre-requisites for taking the FEMA AuxComm course. These courses introduce the learner to the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and the Incident Command System (ICS). These are concepts used in just about any disaster response. The Red Cross tracks the four courses in volunteer training records. Any Red Cross volunteer who takes them should send a copy of their completion certificate to Charles Zurenko for recording. These are free online independent study courses. 09/27/201912/31/2022 Info and registration at: Click [HERE] for FEMA Training web site.
